Businesses and Politicians are reluctant, to say the least, to support legal change to Marijuana laws. But what if we could demonstrate a huge, dynamic, and profitable demographic that most businesses are missing? There are few Demographic sectors that penetrate so many different parts of society. NORML has that for you.
One common misconception is that the word “marijuana” alone is a drug and to use it makes you a druggie or a pusher, or that to support reasonable consideration of our laws on the issue is the same as promoting use of Cannabis as a Drug. Cannabis is not “Evil”, and there is science to support it’s utility in thousands of ways. Supporting honest discussion of the issue, should not be taboo, and you will see that it really isn’t anymore. Ask people personally and you get one answer, but ask them in a business setting the world comes to a halt. WHAT? Let’s just get honest.
Marijuana IS….
It IS present, IS important, IS used, IS profitable, IS a lifestyle, IS an agricultural crop grown in every industrial nation but America, IS consumed as nutrition in a growing number of non-”medicated” forms, and IS so much more.
Everybody knows about Marijuana, but few seem to know the science behind it. Here is where you come in.
By supporting honest discussion and fact based legislation, you are contributing to society, and customers can respect that. It is important to educate the general public that mentioning legislation and opinions does not directly support use of the plant for any particular function. Just because you care, shouldn’t mean that you smoke or want others to.
A growing number of businesses are thriving in the industry.
New publications, websites and even Television programs are popping up at unprecedented rates. From Weeds to Wilfred, Parenthood, Harry’s Law, and even News style documentaries. Marijuana is mainstream, and an issue of interest and attention. It is being exploited by some of the biggest names in business because it is good business. The Implication of Marijuana on TV used to drive controversy with sponsors as they pulled support in fear. Now we hardly hear about how common it’s become as a topic or quip. But don’t think the marketing geniuses have inadvertently let anything slide. Marketing maniacs that used to pull advertising due to statistics, are the ones placing the ads for the same reasons.
More than 30% of Americans live in states that have passed Medical Marijuana Laws, and there are many more considering it now. 17 states and Washington DC all allow for Medical Use of a plant the Federal Government says has no Medical Use at all. (Although The United States Federal Government has for 30 years and still does, provide Marijuana to 4 “Patients” for medical purposes. Watch this.) Every state that has put an initiative to legalize medical Marijuana to the people for a vote has passed such legislation. That should tell you something, but there are federal polls too. Angus Reid Poll: 55%
